Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has exhorted ministries not to provide big budgets on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Prime Minister gave the directive during a cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday, said by Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam.
Regarding the Mujib Year program, the Cabinet Secretary said, “The Prime Minister has said that we have stated precisely that every ministry and department will announce a notable program on the occasion of Mujib Year. From its normal budget. If there is a different work can be thought of as an extra investment. But need to induct a new budget with such a big budget.
He said, “For example, the finance department will provide pension to six lakh pensioners at home in mid-December host six tourist destination venue events during the blue-December of the event with the announcers. They have announced this program as a Mujib Year. Any such good program can be declared as a Mujib Year.
Anwarul Islam said if some program takes funds, for bringing an artist it requires some payment in the opening ceremony. PWD will subtract from its maintenance budget. If the payment is required, the AFD (Armed Forces Division) will make it from their budget as well, so no money will be provided.
The secretary said all have been directed to take up the program in coordination with the central committee. He added that not everyone needs to do new things, not just only budget. I have a program that I can contribute to the welfare of the people or the development of the country.
The program, which is for the nation, will make the ordinary program more effective. Many people did not understand, they thought they have to take a new program.
